The Canadian Academy of Futbol (CAF) is pleased to announce a strategic partnership with Steve Nijjar Sports & Entertainment, operated by business entrepreneurs Steve and Shinaaz Nijjar, who provide a wealth of experience in the sports and entertainment industry.

The new partnership will be responsible for the creation of a new development system for soccer players aged 6-12, with the ultimate objective of becoming the premier development league in Canada for that age category. In conjunction with this, the new partnership will also develop plans for a new, uniquely designed, soccer showcase facility for the league. Details of both these ventures will be released at a later date.

Steve Nijjar is a successful business owner with a passion and love for the game of soccer. After a successful playing career with the Toronto Blizzard, Nijjar turned to ownership in 2003 and brought the first professional soccer franchise to the city of Brampton in the Canadian rofessional Soccer League (CPSL). As head coach, Nijjar led the Hitmen to a first place finish to bring the first CPSL championship to Brampton.

As a performer, Nijjar had a starring role alongside Erik Estrada in the soccer film “The Final Goal” (1985), a major motion picture that was distributed in 68 countries. Nijjar went on to produce and star in several more action films and also produced “Soccer Dreams”, a first-of-its-kind reality show for Fox Sports Canada, which provided players the opportunity to earn a contract with Everton FC of the English Premier League (EPL).

Shinaaz Nijjar brings 25 years of business experience to CAF as she understands the importance of effective HR and accounting policies. Shinaaz and her husband Steve have built Titan Security & Investigative Services into a multi-million dollar company in a short span of time. Her past experiences include management roles at TransPrairie Energy, Molson Canada, and Ceridian Canada.

“It’s our goal to make CAF a premier league from the U7 to U12 age categories,” the Nijjars stated, adding that they hope it can become “one of the best leagues in North America for the up and coming stars of tomorrow”. CAF will continue to be the leader in player development in an enjoyable and competitive environment, providing soccer and life experiences of our future
stars. CAF is excited to have Steve and Shinaaza Nijjar, as they share the same values and vision which will enable CAF to grow.
